CASTAWAY

1994年、私は京都府の公立高校で美術を教えていました。最初に赴任したのが、京都府野田川町に位置する加悦谷高校。近くに日本海があり、休日は浜辺を歩いて海に辿り着いた漂着物を集めていました。私の部屋の前は、ゴミだらけとなり、放置しておくことは許されません。そこで、そういったゴミで何か作れないか？と思い付いたのがこの作品です。当時はアンゼルム　キーファーの展覧会が京都で企画され、少なからず影響を受けた気がします。

In 1994, I was teaching art at a public high school in Kyoto Prefecture. Kayadani High School located in Nodagawa Town, Kyoto Prefecture, first took office. There is the Sea of ​​Japan nearby,in the holiday I spent the time  walking on the beach and collecting the drift that arrived at the sea . In front of my room, it was getting full of garbage and it was not allowed to leave it. So, I decided to make something with such garbage. It is this work that I came up with. At that time, the exhibition of Anselm Kiefer was planned in Kyoto, I feel that it has received a lot of influence.
